When your flight arrives late at night, the last thing you want to do is wait on a long rental car line, or travel to a distant hotel. The Embassy Suites San Francisco Airport, which runs a free shuttle from the airport, is convenient both for weary travelers and families spending time exploring San Francisco.
Like all Embassy Suites, this all-suite hotel has the standard living room with pull out couch and bedroom with two beds. Our family of 5 had plenty of room to stretch out – it was a great place to start our vacation.
The surprise was the beautiful atrium, where you could eat the free breakfast that includes an omelet station and plenty of fruit (another Embassy Suites staple). The hotel was full and the line was long but it moved quickly and the chefs were friendly and smiling when they took our order.
The tropical atrium is also where you can stop by in the evening for the free manager’s reception where you will find cocktails and finger foods. It really doesn’t feel like an airport hotel. If you miss the early evening reception, there is a nice bar overlooking the atrium (although the drinks there are not free).
This sale is valid until 6/4/2023.
If you are traveling with small kids, they will be happy with the nice sized indoor pool (there is also a Jacuzzi). Every room has a refrigerator, so you can keep snacks cold. There is a small but efficient gym and a business center.
Easy Access to Downtown San Francisco
Another surprise: the hotel offers a free shuttle on Fridays – Sundays to downtown San Francisco, just 15 minutes away. You can see the city, not have to brave San Francisco traffic or spend money on a rental car or parking. You can just focus on having fun.
Another savings that added up for us was free parking for our Ford Flex at the hotel (we paid $55/night for valet parking downtown).
Disclosure: We were provided a complimentary room for review purposes, but the opinions are all my own. In fact, I would stay here again whether I was in San Francisco to tour the City or as a convenience to the airport.
