If you’re looking for a hotel to enjoy the best view of Seattle, The Westin Seattle should be your number one choice. The grand view rooms from the twin towers offer a panoramic view of the city and Puget Sound that you can get a full view of the city without having to leave your room.
We had a memorable stay at The Westin Seattle, attending a friend’s wedding and experienced the luxuries of the hotel such as the presidential suite in the top most floor.
What works for families
At check in, every child receives his or her own Westin Kids® Club amenity bag. For guests under 3 years old it will include items to childproof your room, as well as an infant toy. For kids between ages of 3-12, the bag will be include an array of toys and games.
It would be good idea to call ahead to reserve an amenity bag. When we checked in on a Saturday to a fully booked hotel, all amenity bags had been handed out. The staff offered us a free in-room movie as a consolation.
You can also borrow baby items such as a high chair, potty seat or umbrella stroller. A crib based on the Westin trade marked Heavenly Bed series with bedding and a thermal blanket is also available upon request. I recommend calling ahead to ensure availability.
On Sundays, the hotel has extended the check out time till 3pm. It was a relief to know that we didn’t have to rush after a late Saturday night. We could enjoy breakfast and a stroll downtown before heading out.

The Hotel
The twin towers of The Westin Seattle are hard to miss from downtown. The hotel is designed in contemporary style with modern furniture and accessories. With a bar area and comfy lounge furniture, the large lobby was one of my favorite places to relax with a drink.
The hotel is at a prime location downtown which makes it very desirable for families who want to walk to Pike Place Market or downtown shopping district. Other attractions like the Space Needle or Pacific Science Center will be about a $10-15 cab ride away.
The Westin Seattle offers a variety of wedding packages with access to two ballrooms and a range of smaller meeting spaces. Being part of a wedding guest list also assured us of great deal on a room for the wedding weekend. Guests could book a room $200 per night for 2-3 nights which is about $100-150 discount from the regular price.
The Room
We stayed in a grand view room with a king bed. The room was spacious and our two year had enough floor space to spread out his toys.
The highlight was the sweeping views of the city from the 45th floor, just two floors below the top most floor that included the presidential suite. We could see the bay, Space Needle, Pike Place Market, Pacific Science Center arches from our sofa chairs by the full windows.
The average price of a grand view room start at $450 per night for a weekend stay.
If you’re looking to splurge on a room with a view in Seattle, the view at The Westin Seattle will be the best you can get. The view alone was enough to entertain my son as he loved sitting by the window taking it all in.
The bed was very cozy and along with the view of sparkling lights in the city, we had an unforgettable night.
Amenities
Wifi was included with the room. Parking at the hotel is around $40 a night. Because of the central location on the hotel, you can easily do without a car as most attractions can be reached by walking, short taxi ride or through public transportation.
All hotel guests have 24 hour access to the gym. In case you didn’t bring any work out wear, Westin has a gear lending program for a $5 fee in partnership with New Balance.
Though I didn’t get to experience it, I was excited to learn about the in room spa services. If I could have made the time, a massage while I took in the spectacular views of Seattle from our room would have been amazing.

Speaking to the staff at the concierge desk or calling from your room can help you with any of the hotel services or helping you plan sightseeing within the city. We had a very helpful staff member recommend what to do for our free afternoon and arrange a cab to get us started.
Dining
For on site dining, room service which has a special kids menu and Relish Burgher Bar, a restaurant with contemporary American dining are two options available. But because of the close proximity to downtown we didn’t consider eating at the hotel. We made a 10 minute walk to the Pike Place Area and found lots of local eateries.
During the wedding reception we got to experience the great cuisine at The Westin Seattle. I was especially impressed that the kids’ meal included ravioli with two vegetables sides, a full meal made of fresh ingredients instead of the usual processed fare that are presented to kids.
