Each year my husband and I like to go on at least two romantic getaways. For the most recent one, we decided to visit Atlantic City, New Jersey. Since this is a rare occasion, we decided to go all out and stay at the Presidential Suite at Sheraton Atlantic City. It was by far the best experience we have had during out romantic escapades.
A few years ago my husband and I decided that, aside from dinner dates, we should also make an effort to go on at least two romantic getaways each year. This usually happens when my family and I visit the US. My parents live there so we leave our sons with them for a few days.
My parents have a house in New Jersey so we had to find a place nearby where we could enjoy some adult only time. For me there’s only one logical place to visit that is definitely more adult-oriented than other places – Atlantic City!
And as always, I love to learn all I can from the local Tourism Board before I visit a new city. Elaine from Atlantic City Tourism did not disappoint me with all of her advice and good service.
She told me that the winter isn’t the right time to visit if you want to walk along the beach; however, it is a good time to visit if you want to be pampered with a royal treatment at some gorgeous hotel.
Our pick was the Sheraton Atlantic City Convention Center.
Why the Sheraton Atlantic City Hotel?
There were several reasons why my husband and I decided to stay here.
One of the main things was that, for the first time, we were bringing our new puppy on our trip. So I had to focus on pet- friendly hotels in the city.
The Sheraton in Atlantic City is a super dog-friendly hotel. As a matter of fact, most of the patrons here had a doggy with them. At the end, we weren’t one of them. We had a lot of problems with flying with our girl from Guatemala. The international procedure was simply too complicated.
However, that wasn’t the only reason why I decided on this hotel.
Unlike Las Vegas, the only hotels with casinos are the ones along the main strip along the beach. My hubby and I are NOT into any form of gambling, so this wasn’t a treat for us (but I can understand why many people will love it).
Because we weren’t tied to a casino, we were able to get creative and find other ways to enjoy this city. The first thing was to go all out and stay in the Presidential Suite. If you ever wondered if these suites were all that – the answer is YES.
This room was so much more than I expected and I don’t know how I’m going to be able to settle for another type of room ever again. It was meant for two people, but it had six rooms and two bathrooms. When the time comes, I’m going to have to look for family-friendly presidential suites.
But for now, my husband and I truly enjoyed every moment of our short stay.
Tour Time – A Couples Getaway Presidential Suite at Sheraton Atlantic City
The first thing that I saw when I opened the room is a corridor. From it, I could access the dining room, the master bedroom, living room and office space.
All spaces were huge, and the dining room even had a small kitchen. It even came stocked with great tea and coffee.
However, the best part of the dining room was this view of the strip at night.
I was out of breath when I saw the bedroom. It was about 1000 square feet not counting the bathroom. The master bathroom was heavenly. They say it has a bath, but it actually is a Jacuzzi.
But the perks didn’t end there. Just staying in a room on this floor is special. First of all, only people with special keys could come up to the floor.
The reason for that is only the people staying at those rooms can enjoy the lounge with coffee, tea, snacks, fresh fruit, a place to chill out and computers to use.
Other amenities that we got to experience were its complete gym, an indoor pool and a restaurant that we visited for the buffet breakfast.
