Trying to figure out where to eat in Orlando, Florida? Known for their award winning burgers, Teak Neighborhood Grill has become a popular dining spot for both locals as well as vacationing families. From burgers sandwiched between waffles to some that are so tall you won’t even be sure how to eat them, you’ll have your choice of decadent burgers to splurge on. Don’t forget to ask for the secret menu…just don’t tell them you heard it from us.
Recently my husband and I enjoyed a kid free Orlando vacation and we had a blast. There’s so much to see and do that you don’t even need to hit the theme parks to have a great time (and this is coming from a die-hard Disney fan). We kept so busy while we were there that on our last day we just wanted to take it easy. Our only plans were to have lunch at a popular burger place before heading home.
Normally burgers wouldn’t be my first choice but this wasn’t just any burger restaurant. Teak Neighborhood Grill has won so many awards that we wanted to give them a try. These are just a few of the accolades that they’ve earned:
- Best Burger – My City Eats / Orlando A List / Fox 35 News /
- Best Burger In Central Florida – WESH 2 News

After seeing all that, how could I not try one of these burgers? Calories don’t count on vacation, right?
The first thing I noticed when we walked in the door was the Bloody Mary bar. Available on weekends, they’ve got pretty much every ingredient that you could think of and if we weren’t on our way out of town, I think my husband would have made one crazy drink!
The decor was rustic with lots of eclectic touches. We hung out with this guy for lunch!
They also have a large patio, which my girls would have loved. It also looked like a perfect spot to hang out and watch some football…I think they need one of these restaurants in Sarasota!
We took a look at the menu and as soon as I saw Soft Pretzel Rolls, I knew we had to give them a try. Served with melted cheddar and honey mustard, they were every bit as good as they look.
While there is plenty on the regular menu to choose from, those in the know can ask their waiter or waitress for the “secret” menu, giving you even more selections.
I didn’t need it because I already knew what I was ordering. I very rarely splurge on burgers so when I do, I make it count. Since one of Teak’s signature burgers is the Drunken Monk, that’s what I chose. Made with Angry Orchard onion jam, roasted cherry tomatoes, smoked bacon, herb mayo, provolone, white cheddar and served on a pretzel bun, it’s every bit as decadent as it sounds!
When they brought it over, I couldn’t believe how enormous it was and wasn’t even sure how I was going to take that first bite. Once I figured it out, I immediately knew why this restaurant has won so many awards. My burger was amazing and I’ve officially decided that all burgers should have pretzel buns! There’s no way I could have finished the entire thing but it was absolutely delicious.
My husband ordered the OMG burger and felt like it lived up to the name. He eats burgers more often than I do so if he says it’s good, it’s really good! His was loaded with blue cheese, chips, balsamic reduction and lettuce.
We’d chosen the sweet potato tots and the french fries for our sides and while the tots were good, the fries were even better. I’d definitely order them over the tots next time.
Even though we didn’t finish our burgers, we were pretty full and didn’t have much room for dessert. However, after hearing about The Ultimate Cronie, we couldn’t resist. We had to try this deep fried doughnut tossed with cinnamon-sugar, then topped with vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, and powdered sugar. Though we planned to just eat a couple bites, it was completely gone before we knew it. My husband doesn’t have much of a sweet tooth but he ate just as much as I did!
There’s plenty to choose from on the regular menu but those in the know can ask their waiter or waitress for a “secret” menu, with even more selections. While we’d left the kids behind for this trip, Teak also offers a kids menu with burgers, grilled cheese, pasta and more.
We thoroughly our meal and can see why this restaurant is so popular. I certainly couldn’t eat like this every day but it was a delicious way to end our vacation.
SheBuysTravel Tip: If you prefer healthier options, you can choose to have any of these burgers made with turkey instead. There are also other entrees to choose from, such as chicken or seafood. I spotted an Almond Crusted Mahi Salad on the menu that’s right up my alley.
