Puerto Rico gives you all the island vibes without any passport hassle or money exchanges. You can spend your days lounging on gorgeous beaches, drink in one hand, book in the other. Or visit a lush tropical rainforest. Maybe you’re interested in exploring historic and culturally rich Old San Juan? All of your options are wonderful. Condado Plaza Hilton
999 Ashford Ave
San Juan, 00907, Puerto Rico
(787) 721-1000
Conveniently located between Old San Juan and the popular Condado Beach area, the Condado Plaza Hilton is excellent for families looking for an all-inclusive experience in Puerto Rico. The hotel offers package deals that include meals and resort credits that can be used for anything from dining to spa treatments.
The resort offers direct access to the beach with an underwater snorkeling trail. On property, there are four pools including an activity pool with a waterslide and swim-up bar, toddler pool, jacuzzi and a tranquil lounge/lap pool in the Lagoon Tower. When you need a break from the water but don’t want to be too far from the pool action, there’s an adjacent game room with games and activities. There is also an on-site restaurant and fitness center for adults who want to keep up their fitness routine.
The “playita” (small beach) next to the hotel is calm, shallow and safer for younger children than the main beaches. It isn’t uncommon to see children and adults snorkeling and kayaking in the waters.
What’s so great about the Condado Plaza Hilton
- Family Junior Suites with separate sleeping areas, mini-fridges and microwaves
- Family activity pool with waterslide and toddler pool
- Shallow, swimmable beach right next to the hotel
- Poolside game room with board games and ping-pong paddles
Condado Vanderbilt Hotel
1055 Ashford Ave
San Juan, Puerto Rico 00907

If you’re looking for a luxury all-inclusive vacation experience in Puerto Rico, the Condado Vanderbilt fits the bill. Amenities at the resort include world-class restaurants, four swimming pools, a sundeck, spa and fitness center. You’ll also find a wine bar, cigar lounge and cocktail bar. The oceanfront pool area features chaise lounges, cabanas and a personal pool and beach butler to bring you all the refreshments you need.
While there isn’t much for younger kids to do on the resort, there are plenty of options just minutes away. For example, there’s a private beach just steps away where you can rent floats, snorkels and toys for building sandcastles. Old San Juan and the Castillo San Felipe del Morro fort are just 15 minutes away, and within an hour is the El Yunque rainforest and the Bioluminescent Bay.
What’s so great about the Condado Vanderbilt
- Convenient to several family-friendly activities and attractions
- Pet-friendly with pet activities and services for when you want to bring your furry family member along

La Concha Renaissance San Juan Resort
1077 Ashford Ave
San Juan, 00907, Puerto Rico
(787) 721-7500
Located in the heart of the Condado Beach area, La Concha Renaissance Resort is one of my all-time favorite resorts in Puerto Rico. I’ve stayed at this resort for solo trips, girls trips and family trips and have never been let down by the unparalleled service or immaculate grounds and amenities. Even my 13-year-old nephew felt like a king from the robes and slippers in our room to the remarkable poolside service.
While not all-inclusive, the La Concha Renaissance Resort frequently offers packages that include meals, activities and extra nights at the resort. Resort amenities include three swimming pools (including a family pool and an adults-only pool), two whirlpool jacuzzis and ocean view fitness center.
The hotel lounge and casino are always lively and jumping places to be for the adults in the family, especially during the weekends. There’s also an oceanfront nightclub for adults who want to dance the night away.
Why the La Concha Renaissance Resort is great for families:
- Convenient location with direct access to Condado Beach
- Spacious guest rooms and suites with free wifi, separate living rooms and kitchenettes
- Family pool as well as an adult-only pool

San Juan Marriott Stellaris Resort and Casino
1309 Ashford Ave
San Juan, 00907, Puerto Rico
(787) 722-7000
Another resort located in the heart of the popular Condado Beach area, the San Juan Marriott Resort is a popular choice for families vacationing in Puerto Rico.
This resort has always been an attractive San Juan hotel choice for me because of its central location and family-friendly pool area with fountains, a waterslide and a children’s pool. In addition to the heated beachfront pool, there are other amenities such as a tennis court, fitness center and daily scheduled games and activities for the entire family to enjoy. The Stellaris Casino is also nice for adults with a large variety of slot games and table games.
Every room at the resort features plush beds, a furnished private balcony, free wifi and minifridges, making for a comfortable stay after a day of exploring. When it comes to dining, you can eat on-site at one of the many several resort restaurants, or venture off-resort to one of the delicious restaurants within walking distance.
Although the San Juan Marriott is large and has a busy casino, one SheBuysTravel contributor felt that its location was off the beaten path and her family didn’t even pass it during their stay.
Why the San Juan Marriott Stellaris Resort and Casino is great for families:

200 Convention Blvd
San Juan, 00907, Puerto Rico
(787) 993-3500
Just 10 minutes away from the airport, the Sheraton Puerto Rico Hotel and Casino is consistently ranked as one of the top hotels in San Juan. This family-friendly hotel offers amenities such as six restaurants, game room and fitness center. There’s also a car rental agency in the garage so you can get around the island easily, as well as complimentary parking. If you book a Club Room, you’ll receive access to a lounge with all-inclusive-style perks such as continental breakfast, all-day snacks and afternoon appetizers.
However, one of the biggest draws for families staying at the Sheraton is the large family-friendly pool where children can safely splash around and play. The rooftop pool offers stunning views of the San Juan Bay, making it difficult to choose between the pool or the beach.
One TripAdvisor mom called the resort a “Great family getaway.” In her words, “The kids loved the pool and picture backgrounds. I wish I would have stayed longer to enjoy the sites and more kid friendly activities.”
Why the Sheraton Puerto Rico is great for families:

1000 El Conquistador Avenue
Fajardo, 00738, Puerto Rico
(787) 863-1000
Within minutes of the El Yunque National Rainforest and the Laguna Grande Bioluminescent Bay (both of which I highly recommend), El Conquistador Resort is one the best all-inclusive resort experiences in Puerto Rico for families.
Perhaps the biggest draw to the resort (especially for children) is the Coqui Water Park, Puerto Rico’s only seaside waterpark. Here the whole family can spend the entire day doing fun things such as zipping down waterslides, coasting down the lazy river or cooling off in the huge infinity pool. You’ll also find mini-golf, an oversized chess board, game room, small theater and fire pit for roasting s’mores.
In addition to the resort’s wide range of amenities, you also get access to a private 100-acre white sand island, Palomino. There the family can partake in even more fun activities including kayaking and paddleboarding.
