The Best Travel Gear Matters
The right travel gear can make or break a vacation. That’s why we put together this entire section of our favorite travel products, travel gifts and travel accessories.
It starts with lightweight four-wheeled spinner carry-on luggage and a sturdy travel backpack.
Then you need to pack that carry-on bag right — using packing cubes (we love our Eagle Creek packing cubes!) and a toiletry bag that makes it easy to pack the travel essentials you need and get to them easily once you arrive at your destination.
And then there are the things you’ll need for touring — comfortable travel shoes, a light daypack, refillable water bottle, and spare battery to keep your smartphone powered up. And you’ll want to preserve those memories! If your smartphone isn’t enough, bring along a GoPro.
Packing Made Easy
Deciding what travel clothing you’ll need — from wrinkle-resistant t-shirts to sun dresses — depends on where you’re going and what you’ll be doing.
Our best travel tip: Even if you’re a minimalist when it comes to packing, ALWAYS include a high-quality water-resistant rain jacket (we’re big fans of Patagonia and North Face jackets, available on Amazon and REI) a compact tote bag and an inflatable travel pillow. That way, we’re ready for stormy weather, souvenir shopping and flight delays!
Right now, our packing list also includes some specialized travel gear such as a waterproof bag for our iPhone, a TSA-friendly laptop backpack for our MacBook, a universal power adapter and a mini travel humidifier to help us sleep a little better.
We’ve been there and bought that. Now it’s your turn!
