I loved arriving at the hands-on Cebiche & Pisco Workshop at La Mar Cocina Peruana and learning how to make traditional Peruvian Cebiche and Pisco cocktails. The interactive workshop not only taught the recipe but also Peruvian traditions. Even novice cooks will find Chef Jean-Paul Fung’s instructions easy to follow, leaving you refreshed with new culinary skills.

The Solo Chef’s Tasting: Why It’s a Must

La Mar Bellevue offers an evening tasting menu called Experiencia La Mar. A perfect way to dine alone. Servers explain each dish in detail, and the chef usually comes around to interact with diners as well. I expected to feel conspicuous sitting alone, but between the chef explaining each course and servers checking in, I never felt like I was eating alone.

  • The Magic: Experiencia La Mar serves a multi-course meal and showcases cultural traditions while teaching you about Peruvian cuisine
  • What I Loved Best: Interactive tasting experiences make solo dining less lonely and keep you engaging with the staff
  • Must-Try Recommendation: Order the Experiencia La Mar multi-course tasting menu to try dish combinations you have never eaten before
  • Chef Interaction: The chef comes around to explain dishes and interact directly with diners
  • Seasonal Variety: Menus change frequently with the seasons, ensuring fresh ingredients year-round

SheBuysTravel: Make sure to try a Pisco cocktail. Pisco is a grape brandy made in Peru and Chili. I loved the unique flavor.
