I would recommend staying in Valletta, Malta, time and time again. Not only is it the capital of Malta, but it’s filled with restaurants, rooftop bars, shopping, piazzas, close (enough) to nightlife if you want it, and super-duper safe. If you’re headed to Malta and don’t know where to stay, I like The Capital Boutique Hotel in Valletta, Malta.

Here’s Why:

  • Complimentary Drinks & Snacks: Enjoy free wine + sandwiches everyday from 6-7 pm.
  • Prime Location: Centrally situated, making it easy to explore Valletta
  • Authentic Maltese Breakfast: Included with your stay, offering a range of fresh, local options.
  • Spacious Rooms: Modern accommodations with plenty of storage.

Location

Perfectly positioned in the heart of Valletta, you’re literally a block away from all the main streets that are filled with restaurants, rooftop bars, shopping, piazzas, etc. The Lobby and concierge offered a warm welcome and were always ready to assist with anything I needed.

The Room

Comfort:  The overall setup and feel of the room was modern, updated, and extremely clean. “Storage space” was its middle name. We had a MASSIVE closet; enough room to hang our clothes, put our suitcases away and store additional shopping bags (we had many!).

Amenities Included: Queen bed, Espresso machine, mini fridge, safe, ample closet space, modern amenities.

View + Noise: The room may lack a view, but it’s quiet and peaceful, with no disturbances from outside or other rooms.

Quality: Spectacular. A standout feature with fresh bread, boiled eggs, overnight oats, meats, cheese and vibrant fruits and vegetables.

Favorites:

  • Sliced mortadella
  • Locally-sourced maltese jams and preserves
  • Chocolate croissants ( dipped in cappuccino )

Dining

Food + Drink: Daily free happy hour from 6-7 pm, featured red and white wine and light bites like sandwiches.

Impression: The adjacent bar is intimate and quiet, ideal for a pre-dinner drink or a relaxed evening before exploring the city.

Summary

The Capital Boutique Hotel in Valletta excels in location, amenities, and service. We saw families, couples, and solo travelers enjoying themselves there. With modern rooms, friendly staff, and superb walkability, this hotel enhanced my stay in Malta.
