The Chamberlin Inn is a cozy boutique property one block off Cody’s main drag, Sheridan Avenue. Originally built in 1901, this 21-room property is one of the best hotels for a romantic couples’ getaway or girlfriend trip. I stayed during a recent solo trip to Yellowstone for one night. It was so charming, I wish my stay had been longer.

Famous guests have included Ernest Hemingway who finished his manuscript โ€œDeath in the Afternoonโ€ while staying at the Chamberlin. Stay in his suite, if youโ€™ve got deep pockets. Or look for his signature on the guest register in the lobby. The friendly staff will show you where it is.

I had one of the least expensive rooms, but it was large with a very comfortable bed and a clawfoot tub with shower. If you have mobility concerns, ask for a room with a walk-in shower. A continental breakfast is included in the room rate. Take it back to your room or eat in the sun-splashed conservatory.

  • Complimentary continental breakfast included in room rate
  • Live music in season
  • Room choices range from guest rooms to cottages
  • Appealing public spaces like a relaxing sunroom and courtyard with fire pits

RV Parks and Campgrounds in Cody

Amenities vary by location. Iโ€™m not a camper, but some destinations, like Americaโ€™s Wild West, almost demand an outdoor night under the stars stay. While there are no luxury glamping resorts in Cody, you can stay in a TIPI or sheep wagon for a โ€œhow I roughed itโ€ story and Instagrammable photos.

Location is a Consideration in Cody

Location is an important consideration when choosing your Cody lodging. If you want to be in the middle of the action on Sheridan Avenue, a downtown hotel like The Chamberlin, Irma and Scout Inn are steps from the restaurants and bars.

The Buffalo Bill Village properties are a quieter option, closer to the airport and still within walking distance. The Best Western hotels and The Cody are on the opposite end of town, near the Buffalo Bill Center of the West.
