Best Martha’s Vineyard Hotels for a Classic New England Island Getaway

With a name like “Martha’s Vineyard,” I’d always thought that this popular Massachusetts island south of Cape Cod was all about wine hopping and cork popping. But boy was I wrong! In fact, Martha’s Vineyard has had only one wine-producing vineyard in its time, and even that closed in 2008!

But what I was surprised to learn is that Martha’s Vineyard packs SO much more, and for all ages. Not only is it where the classic movie Jaws was filmed, but it’s also home to the Flying Horses Carousel, the nation’s oldest platform carousel. There are numerous sandy beaches, world-class restaurants and hiking and biking trails galore. There’s even a hotel that gives you courtesy access to a vintage Rolls Royce Car.

Whether you’re looking for a tranquil adults-only retreat to recharge or a fun family break away from the mundane routine, Martha’s Vineyard will surely leave you satisfied Here are our recommendations of 20 incredible family-friendly Martha’s Vineyard hotels and resorts for your next getaway:
