Southern SheBuysTravel Melody made her first visit to St. Pete Beach in Florida. Sipping cocktails on the white sugary sand beach and splashing in three oceanfront pools kinda grew on her. Find out which timeless resort wowed her and rejuvenated her mind, body, and soul — and enjoy these Sirata Beach Resort photos.
Sitting on a private white-sugary sand Florida beach is the lovely Sirata Beach Resort, a mammoth property where every room has a full or partial view of the Gulf of Mexico. Guests have been coming to the Sirata for countless years now for vacation, celebrating special occasions, escaping cold weather, and on weekends. Multi-generational travelers are drawn to the resort for many reasons, the largest being the impeccable service. These Sirata Beach Resort photos will make you want to visit now! Everything you could wish for is on the resort’s pristine grounds.
After being sold from the family owners in 2017, the Sirata Beach Resort needed a new look so a whopping $15 million facelift began in December. What can you expect when the renovations are finished? Sleek, modernized hotel rooms and suites that make large family travel more convenient and comfortable.
Perks of traveling during the renovation? Discounted rooms, an unheard offering during Florida’s spring break and peak season.
Guest Rooms
My classic Suite at the Sirata Beach Resort was spacious with a separate bedroom, living room with a sliding glass door and balcony, partial kitchen, and bathroom in between with the sink in the middle. My impeccably clean room and Sirata’s attention to detail in the high-end toiletries, plush bed linens, and complimentary bottled water are impressive.
Newly renovated guest rooms will be modern in neutral tones, with up-to-date decor and brightly colored pops of color in the artwork and fabrics. The dining room table and chairs were my favorite upgrade as they were perfect for sharing a meal together or doubling as a desk or area to play board games. Two vibrant hued chairs sat on the balcony for guests to enjoy watching the tides roll in and out. Flat-screen TV’s and state-of-the-art kitchen appliances sealed the deal.

The Decadent Restaurants
Three onsite restaurants grace the grounds of the Sirata Beach Resort. I was fortunate enough to try them all. The food was really good; made with high-quality ingredients, tasty recipes, and gorgeous plate presentation. To be honest, I really expected typical beachfront hotel Blaise food but that was not the case at the Sirata.
Rum Runners Bar & Grille
At Rum Runners Bar & Grille, nestled between the pool and white sand beach, enjoy Caribbean cocktails, beer, sandwiches, appetizers, and typical bar fare. Guests dine here for breakfast and the food is fabulous and scenery impeccable. You may even see a squirrel sneak a shot of coffee creamer like I did. The Sirata has an outdoor fireplace and cozy seating arrangement over to the side and will even break out portable heaters if needed.
Harry’s Beach Bar
From Harry’s, the resort’s lively restaurant with a stellar reputation and live music nighty, I had crispy Gorgonzola Chips with Balsamic Vinegar Glaze and Roasted Garlic Shrimp. This is definitely one of the hotspots of St. Pete Beach.
Compass Grille
The more formal dining spot, Compass Grille, still has a casual atmosphere but is upscale and a hint romantic. Every dish I tried was top-notch with my favorites being the Jumbo Seared Scallops, Shrimp Curry Penne Pasta, and Coconut Shrimp. Save room for dessert because they are not to miss.
I opted to eat room service one morning, which arrived both timely and hot.
Special Activities at the Sirata
Daily activities include yoga on the beach, arts and crafts, and trivia. Find the schedule in the newsletter at the front desk and the TV’s in the hallways of each building. Huge crowds gather daily for sunsets; you have the best seat in Florida right here at the Sirata Beach Resort.
The West coast of Florida gets dazzling sunsets, free of charge.
The Sirata Beach Resort’s location offered direct access to water sports activities and rentals. Resort guests can rent chairs and beach umbrellas, book shelling cruises and dolphin watches, rent jet-skis, and much more. I took a dolphin cruise over to Shell Island and it was a blast! Bring back anything you find so I came home with nearly a dozen picture-perfect sand dollars and a few pretty shells.
The Pristine Grounds
A well-appointed gym and game room are onsite at the Sirata Resort. Use a complimentary bicycle to venture down the beach or streets. During my four day stay at Sirata Beach Resort, I did not once see any trash anywhere. The workers are on top of their game keeping things tidy and pristine. A nice gift shop with sundries is open daily for snacks, magazines, coffee, and souvenirs.
What Guests Love (and it shows!)
The Sirata Beach Resort’s swimming pools and whirlpools are perfect. From both, guests have beautiful views of the ocean. The water temperature is comfortable, although most people just relaxed around the pools instead of getting in. One day, I rented a cabana and thoroughly enjoyed it. My refrigerator was stocked with bottled water, soda, and juice. I also had fresh fruit to nibble on. Cabana or not, a server waits on you poolside and the resort’s guests dig that service.
Frequent guests bragged about how great the service was resort wide as the #1 reason they returned to the Sirata Beach Resort year after year. I agree! The guests are also excited about the resort’s new airport pickup service.
Overall Thoughts
After all these Sirata Beach Resort photos, are you ready for your next vacation? Unwind, relax and take in the beautiful 13-acre resort on the crystal clear waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Sink your feet into the sugary white sand and let your cares be gone. I sure did.
