The Cove is a luxurious all-suite hotel tucked away in a quiet spot at the intersection of two private access beaches at Atlantis Paradise Island Bahamas Resort. The result is a sense of seclusion and privacy enhanced by incredible views from the ocean suites. While it’s certainly tempting, you won’t want to stay in your suite. There is far too much fun to be had, food to be eaten and beaches to be walked!

While all of Atlantis Resort Bahamas is family-friendly, including the spacious suites at The Cove, this hotel is also a favorite of couples and honeymooners for its luxurious open-air walkways, exclusive adults-only pool, boutique shopping and the restaurant, Fish by José Andrés.

Overview of The Cove

The feeling of “ah” starts before check-in. When you arrive at The Cove via a private road that winds between two other Atlantis hotels, The Royal and The Reef, you’ll be greeted by a relaxing koi pond, palm trees and lush garden flowers. Modern fountains line an open-air breezeway, framing a picture-perfect view of the ocean beyond. You’ll immediately start to feel the stress of travel melt away.

The 600 upscale suites of The Cove are designed for luxury. When you want to take that up a notch, choose to stay in a Lapis Club Ocean Suite, Sapphire or Azure Suite. That gives you access to the Lapis at The Cove concierge level club located on the 22nd floor. There, you’ll find breathtaking ocean views, a dedicated concierge who can make dinner, golf, spa and private cabana reservations, gourmet breakfast and pre-dinner cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.

Reasons to stay here over other Atlantis hotels are the perks available to guests of The Cove, such as private access to a stunning beach and to two exclusive pools.

While The Cove’s elegant vibe is popular with adults, it also works for luxury-loving families. SheBuysTravel contributor Heidi Gollub says The Cove is her family’s favorite Atlantis hotel because “The Cove is the best of both worlds: You have a sophisticated beachside haven for unwinding, but it’s only a short walk to water slides and pools when you want some action.”

Guest Rooms at The Cove Atlantis

The first thing you’ll notice when you enter your suite is the breathtaking view of the teal water below. This is the reason you want to stay at The Cove. All 600 suites at The Cove have a balcony with stunning floor-to-ceiling ocean views.

And you’ll have plenty of space to settle in. Rooms range from a generous 672 square feet for an Ocean Suite with one king or two queen beds to a stunning 4830 square feet for the Penthouse Suite.

Gollub says she loved having lots of room to spread out with her two children. They stayed in a Deluxe Ocean Suite with two queens and a sleeper sofa in a sunken living room, so they each had their own bed. The suite’s bathroom is huge, too, with two sinks and a bathtub.

All of the rooms include:

  • Flat-screen HDTV
  • Bluetooth Speakers & Charging Station
  • Keurig® K-Cup Coffee Maker
  • Individually controlled air-conditioning
  • Archipelago Botanicals bath amenities
  • Robes & Slippers
  • Bathroom Scale
  • Iron and full-size ironing board
  • Clothes Steamer
  • Hairdryer
  • Alarm Clock
  • Laptop-sized in-room safe
  • Premium free Wi-Fi
  • Room service

Lapis Ocean Suites, Azure Suites and Sapphire Suites also include access to the Lapis Club and nightly turndown service. The Sapphire Suites take it up another notch with butler service as well.

The Adults-Only Pool at The Cove

While Atlantis overall has more than 20 swimming areas and 14 distinctly unique pools, plus the giant Aquaventure waterpark for families, The Cove Pool is an adults-only pool reserved exclusively for guests of The Cove.

There you’ll find four multi-level pools, poolside daybeds, and outdoor gaming for guests age 18+.

The Cove is also the place to find the family-friendly Cascades Pool.

The Beaches at The Cove Atlantis

Atlantis Resort is home to more than 5 miles of white sand beaches and The Cove sits at the intersection of two of the best: the tranquil Cove Beach and Paradise Beach, a private beach reserved exclusively for guests of The Cove and The Reef.

A big advantage of staying at The Cove is your proximity to this private beach where there is nature as far as the eye can see, with no other buildings in sight. Grab a Starbucks coffee in The Reef and get your toes in the sand for sunrise.

Early risers have Paradise Beach to themselves and it’s a great spot to hunt for unique shells and fossils. The water is crystal clear, so keep an eye out for sea turtles as you walk along the shore.

If you want an even closer look at marine life, pack your snorkel gear or buy some at Atlantis. Paradise Beach is the perfect spot to look for colorful Caribbean fish, but you may want to wear water shoes to protect your feet in the ocean.

Dining at The Cove Atlantis

One of the big pros of staying at The Cove is that, while the hotel feels secluded from the rest of Atlantis, it’s just a short walk away from the resort’s full array of fine dining restaurants and bars.

That includes Café Martinique helmed by globally acclaimed chef Adrian Delcourt and, opening this summer, Paranza, a new Italian restaurant from Michelin-starred chef Michael White that is “a love letter to Italy that offers an elevated and innovative expression of Italian regional cuisine with a passionate focus on seafood.”

White joins fellow Michelin-starred chefs Nobu Matsuhisa of Nobu, and Jose Andres’ Fish, located at The Cove. One of the best restaurants at the resort, Fish by Jose Andres turns the freshest Caribbean seafood into mouth watering favorites. Make your reservations as soon as you book your stay to assure you’ll get a seat at this in-demand table.

For beachfront lunchtime dining right next to The Cove Pool, Frezca serves light, healthy cuisine inspired by local ingredients and global influences.

Sea Glass is a casually upscale restaurant in the heart of The Cove that serves light tapas, fruit-infused martinis and signature cocktails.
