The Lodge at Columbia Point is located in Richland, one of the Tri-Cities in central southeast Washington State. At the confluence of the Yakima, Snake and Columbia Rivers, this sun-soaked region of the Pacific Northwest offers outdoor recreation, urban charm and a pioneering spirit, all in the heart of Washington Wine Country.

The Lodge has 80 guest rooms, each named for a different celebrated local winery. The front rooms of the hotel have views of Badger Mountain and the rear of the hotel overlooks the scenic Columbia River. The hotel is adjacent to the river boardwalk which is an active location for walking, cycling and running. This property is suitable for a romantic weekend getaway, a family vacation or a solo adventure. Some rooms are pet-friendly and there is a nearby park.

The hotel provides comfortable library spaces on each level and has a heated pool and hot tub with an outdoor fireplace, along with a dining veranda and a firepit. Inside and next to the hotel fitness center is a luxurious spa retreat area. Facials and massages are available by appointment only.

SheBuysTravel tip: Book your reservation well in advance if you want a riverfront view or spa services.

The only four star property in Richland, the Lodge at Columbia Point is notable not only for its comfortable accommodations, but also Drumheller’s Restaurant. A favorite of locals who aren’t guests, this restaurant offers a selection of starters, seasonal entrees and scrumptious desserts. Of course with their proximity to Washington wine country, they have an excellent assortment of wines for every taste.

During my recent fall visit I enjoyed dinner with a Moscow Mule with local elderberry and an autumn pasta with butternut squash and shrimp. The view out my dining window was over the spectacular outdoor veranda with a cozy fire pit, all overlooking the serene waters of the Columbia River.

There are several other nearby restaurants:

  • Fable – comfy bar and grill overlooking the Columbia River. Try the clam chowder in the bread bowl!
  • Anthony’s seafood – adjacent to the Lodge at Columbia Point with river views.
  • Lulu Craft Bar + Kitchen – farm to table restaurant featuring local fare, near the Lodge at Columbia Point.
