If you’re looking for an epic tropical getaway, I can’t think of a place better than the Florida Keys, and especially Key West. Key West, is the southernmost city in the U.S. and offers tons of fun year-round. Known for great weather and a laid-back party vibe, Key West is perfect for a family vacation or a romantic couple’s trip.
Along with sparkling coastal waters, it offers much more! History buffs like me will want to take the popular Hemingway House and Little White House tours. There are also many different local food tours for the foodies in your group, and of course, the waters off Key West are home to some of the best fishing and snorkeling in the United States.
Welcome to The Perry Hotel & Marina Key West
Expect to be pampered on arrival, starting with a complimentary glass of champagne, served by a friendly and smiling front desk staff member. Talk about starting things off on the right foot!
I noticed the cold cucumber-infused water in the glass beverage dispenser at check-in, and daily thereafter. The staff kept the dispenser full of yummy ice-cold infused water daily so we could easily quench our thirst each time we walked into the lobby after a hot day outside. It’s little touches like this that make the Perry Hotel & Marina Key West so comfortable and luxurious.

Location
The Perry Hotel & Marina Key West is a waterfront vacation property located on Stock Island, which is about 15 minutes to the north of Old Town Key West. People may think they need to stay in Old Town Key West to experience the best of Key West, but we didn’t feel like we missed out on anything staying at the Perry Hotel & Marina on Stock Island. We were close enough to all the action but far enough away to enjoy a quiet and spacious hotel property.
Since the hotel property offers a shuttle service that takes you to and picks you up from Old Town every hour, from morning until late evening, you won’t need to rent a car.
We learned that parking in Key West, especially in Old Town, can be challenging. I loved not having to deal with driving and parking. Riding the shuttle to Old Town was quick and easy – we rode it each day of our stay.
At night, we hopped on the shuttle and were dropped off just steps from all the action in Old Town. Whether we indulged in Key Lime Pie at Kermit’s or checked out the nightlife on Duval Street and beyond, it was all just steps away from the shuttle drop-off.
Every shuttle driver was friendly and gave us the inside scoop on their favorite Key West spots to try! The hotel shuttle at Perry Hotel & Marina is a huge bonus and just one reason you may want to consider staying here.

Guest Rooms
The Perry Hotel & Marina is an upscale 4-star boutique property offering 100 guest rooms and suites, all with many amenities. Our spacious and inviting guest room featured sleek and modern furnishings, a spa-inspired bathroom, and two queen beds with pillow top mattresses.
The best thing about our room was the incredible water views! There’s nothing like waking up to a gorgeous swimming pool surrounded by swaying palm trees and the open ocean waters.
The private balcony overlooking the pool is a perfect spot to unwind after a busy day of sightseeing. Watching all the different boats in the marina has a zen-like effect.
SheBuysTravel Tip: Request an upper-level room overlooking the pool and marina for exquisite views.
On-Site Dining
Salty Oyster Dockside Bar & Grill
A poolside bar is simply a fantastic idea. Who doesn’t love being able to order an iced tea and some munchies while lounging on the pool deck? The large bar space at the Salty Oyster Dockside Bar & Grill overlooks both the marina and the pool. This is a great spot to enjoy a drink, and snack as you enjoy the water views.
One morning I hung out by the pool while answering emails in the morning sun. The waitstaff brought me my breakfast sandwich along with a piping hot vanilla latte. Talk about feeling spoiled! The best part of this picture-perfect scene was the lightning-quick wi-fi down at the pool. I had no issues sending out my work emails poolside.
Matt’s Stock Island Kitchen & Bar
Dinner at Matt’s Stock Island Kitchen & Bar was spectacular. This dockside restaurant is a lovely spot along the water to relax with a special meal from an award-winning gourmet kitchen. Matt’s Stock Island prides itself on serving sea-to-table fresh fish in an intimate atmosphere. We dined outside under the stars amid soft music and a gentle breeze. My yellowtail snapper with parmesan grits and squash salad was sublime.
Matt’s also does a popular Sunday brunch featuring a yellowtail snapper BLT, steak and eggs with chimichurri, and lobster benedict among other specialties. A wide variety of brunch cocktails including Perry’s Mary – the Perry’s take on the Bloody Mary- will round out your meal. Happy hour is from 4-6 pm daily.
