If you were to ask which optional all-inclusive Villa Group resort to book for your upcoming trip to Mexico’s Cabo San Lucas, my response would be, “It depends on who you travel with.” After spending time at Villa La Valencia, Villa La Estancia, Villa del Arco and Villa del Palmar, it became clear that some work especially well for families, while others feel ideal for adults seeking a livelier vibe or a quieter, more relaxed getaway. This guide breaks down each resort to help you decide which best fits your travel style, crew and budget.

My son has several food allergies, and every restaurant we visited accommodated him with either dish recommendations or custom allergy-friendly dishes prepared just for him!
Amenities at Villa La Valencia

The Villa La Valencia offers a beautiful multi-pool area with a children’s pool, activity pool, and adults-only area. The four ocean-view jacuzzis are a great way to relax, especially during the cooler months. My 12-year-old and I agree that the best part is the 1,114 square-foot lazy river. It is the largest in Los Cabos, and the only lazy river you’ll find at any Cabo resort.
Other amenities include:
- 24-hour room service
- 24-hour gym
- Spa with a co-ed hydrotherapy area, relaxing massages and facial treatments
- Kids’ club
- Babysitting service for families (extra cost)
Activities and Entertainment at Villa La Valencia

When it comes to activities and entertainment, Villa La Valencia does the job well. We didn’t turn on the TV once during our stay! If reducing screen time during Spring Break or other vacation periods is a goal, this resort makes it easy.
Guests can look forward to:
- Pool and beach activities (i.e., stand-up paddleboard yoga, aqua fitness, sunrise breakfast)
- Nightly entertainment
- Tastings, cooking lessons, and Spanish lessons
- Daily kids’ club activities (i.e., board and table games, mini yoga, face painting, arts and crafts)
- External tours and local activities
Note that some activities have an extra cost.
Villa La Estancia Beach Resort & Spa

Sitting right on Medano Beach, Villa La Estancia offers Mexican hacienda-style charm and plenty of space to stretch out. My first visit was in 2012 as part of my annual birthday girls’ trip. The idea was to find a quiet, relaxing, non-party resort, and it certainly fit the bill. Guests must be 25 years old to partake in the all-inclusive package.
Best for:
- Families with older children
- Adult travel groups
- Couples
Accommodations at Villa La Estancia

- Room Types: Deluxe superior suites, super spacious 1-3 bedroom suites, a presidential suite and a four-bedroom penthouse.

SheBuysTravel Tip: When traveling with kids, I highly recommend the breakfast buffet, which offers a wide selection. Even my super-picky, allergy-prone son went back for seconds! Adults: Try the Bailey’s soaked cinnamon rolls. They do not disappoint!

- Nightly entertainment and theme nights at Villa del Palmar
- Concierge and tour-booking services
- Less than a 10-minute taxi or Uber to the Marina area
SheBuysTravel Tip: Ask your concierge about tours to view El Arco. A trip to Cabo San Lucas isn’t complete without a close-up view of these jaw-dropping rock formations!
Villa del Arco Beach Resort & Spa

While all of the Medano Beach Villa Group resorts offer picture-perfect views of Los Arcos, Villa del Arco sits the closest. Villa del Palmar offers plenty to keep you busy from the moment you walk in. The main pool has a splash pad area so that families can easily enjoy it together. The adults-only section sits elevated above the family pool, ensuring a quieter, more peaceful experience. My son and I both agree that the main pool seems a bit shallower than other resort pools.

- Kids’ club
- Outdoor tennis courts
- Access to the Desert Spa and fitness center at Villa del Arco
Activities and Entertainment at Villa del Palmar

Villa del Palmar is the go-to Villa Group resort for nightly entertainment for all ages.
After dinner, head to Tortugas Terrace for one of their regular live shows. The open-air seating, large stage and great sound system make the shows feel incredibly engaging. My son and I recommend The Greatest Showman, a lively, exciting show for the entire family.
