Disney Cruise Line is slated to debut its largest-ever cruise ship in March, featuring the longest roller coaster at sea, new performances and restaurants, seven immersive themed zones and a fairytale Storybook Castle.

The eighth ship in Disney’s growing fleet, the 6,700-passenger Disney Adventure will sail year-round from Singapore and offer 3 and 4-night sea day itineraries. Drawing on more than a century of storytelling from Disney, Marvel and Pixar, the first Disney ship to homeport in Asia will be filled with epic experiences and unforgettable family moments.

As a mom who loves sailing on Disney cruises with my kids, this is a voyage I can’t wait to book. Here’s everything families need to know about Disney’s newest cruise ship.

What Families Can Expect on Disney Adventure

Originally planned as the Global Dream for Dream Cruises, Disney Cruise Line purchased the vessel during construction and reimagined it as the Disney Adventure. Because of this, the ship will be in a class of its own, with a design that is unique and different from any of the other ships in Disney’s fleet.

It’s also much bigger; the 208,000-gross-ton ship will carry 6,700 guests plus crew (compared to 4,000 guests on Disney’s Wish-class ships). This added space allows for more attractions, larger entertainment venues, expanded dining options and a wide variety of family-friendly experiences.

Inside Disney Adventure’s Themed Zones and Onboard Experiences

Disney Adventure is divided into seven imaginatively themed zones, each designed to feel like its own destination onboard:

  • Disney Imagination Garden, a lush central courtyard anchored by a performance stage and the first Disney castle at sea
  • Disney Discovery Reef, an underwater-themed open-air dining and shopping area
  • Toy Story Place, with water slides, splash zones, a pool, whirlpools and outdoor movie screens
  • Marvel Landing, home to three new superhero-themed attractions
  • Wayfinder Bay, a Moana-inspired pool oasis with live performances
  • San Fransokyo Street, a Big Hero 6-themed “street” with teen and tween clubs, a gaming lounge, cinemas and shopping
  • Town Square, a fairytale-inspired land centered on Disney Princesses, with themed dining, boutiques and the Walt Disney Theatre

The Longest Roller Coaster at Sea and Other Can’t-Miss Attractions

Thrill-seeking families will find plenty to love aboard Disney Adventure, including three headline attractions:

  • Ironcycle Test Run: Disney Cruise Line’s first-ever roller coaster and the longest at sea, this 820-foot-long Iron Man-themed thrill ride lets riders “test drive” Tony Stark’s latest Ironcycle
  • Groot Galaxy Spin, a Guardians of the Galaxy-inspired attraction that sends guests spinning through space to a classic mixtape soundtrack
  • Pym Quantum Racers, an Ant-Man-themed ride where guests race modified Pym Tech mini cars along a toy-sized track

SheBuysTravel Tip: Disney recently unveiled the all-new Adventure Generator, a free digital planning tool that lets families explore attractions and map out activities aboard Disney Adventure before sailing — something I always appreciate when planning cruise days with kids.

Rotational Dining on Disney Adventure

One of my favorite family experiences aboard Disney ships is rotational dining, where guests rotate through a new themed restaurant each evening. New rotational dining venues aboard Disney Adventure include:

  • Hollywood Spotlight Club and Navigator’s Club, glamorous dinner clubs with appearances by Minnie, Mickey, Daisy and Donald
  • Animator’s Palate and Animator’s Table, celebrating Disney and Pixar animation
  • Enchanted Summer Restaurant, inspired by the Tangled and Frozen films
  • Pixar Market Restaurant, a casual dining space themed to films like Inside Out, Cars and Finding Nemo

SheBuysTravel Tip: Disney cruises offer early and late dinner seatings that coordinate with Broadway-style shows. Early diners see the show after dinner, while late diners go first — making it easy to fit everything in without stress. Our family loves eating early, allowing more fun in the evenings for the shows and activities in Disney’s Oceaneer Club.

Other Family-Friendly Dining Options on Disney Adventure

In addition to rotational dining, Disney Adventure will offer dozens of quick-service spots, lounges and specialty restaurants. Highlights include:

  • Stitch’s Ohana Grill, a casual Lilo & Stitch-themed eatery
  • Gramma Tala’s Kitchen, featuring Pacific and Asian flavors
  • Mowgli’s Eatery, serving Indian and regional cuisine
  • Bewitching Boba and Brews, a colorful bubble tea café
  • Cosmic Kebabs, offering Middle Eastern and Halal staples

Families looking for a special night out can also book premium dining at Mike & Sulley’s Flavors of Asia, which includes teppanyaki, omakase-style dining and sushi experiences. And parents will appreciate the adult-exclusive restaurant Palo Trattoria, featuring delectable Northern Italian fare.

New Disney Cruise Line Entertainment for All Ages

Disney Adventure will deliver Disney Cruise Line’s signature Broadway-caliber stage shows and deck entertainment across multiple venues. New productions include:

  • Avengers Assemble!, a high-energy superhero battle
  • Duffy and The Friend Ship, a heartwarming adventure with new Disney characters
  • Captain Jack Sparrow & the Siren Queen, a swashbuckling pirate tale
  • Remember, a musical inspired by Pixar’s WALL-E
  • Moana: Call of the Sea, an open-air performance with puppetry and music
  • Baymax Super Exercise Expo, an interactive show starring Big Hero 6’s Hiro and Baymax

Other shows include fan favorites Disney Seas The Adventure, Let’s Set Sail and Mickey’s Color Spin Dance Party.

Staterooms and Suites Designed with Families in Mind

Disney Cruise Line is known for its family-friendly staterooms, and Disney Adventure continues that tradition. As a family of five, I’ve always appreciated how Disney makes it easy to travel comfortably with kids.

Options aboard Disney Adventure include Verandah Staterooms (each with a private balcony that overlooks the ocean, Disney Imagination Garden or Disney Discovery Reef), Oceanview Staterooms and Inside Staterooms. Families seeking more space can book connecting staterooms, and all cabins feature magical touches unique to Disney Cruise Line, including artwork inspired by Disney, Pixar and Marvel.

SheBuysTravel Tip: Aboard Disney Adventure, all staterooms for more than four guests are in the exclusive Concierge area of the ship — and the new vessel has a larger share of Concierge Suites than any of the other Disney ships. This may translate to more availability (and potentially better value) for families interested in upgraded perks.

Disney Adventure Itineraries From Singapore

Disney Adventure will sail year-round from Singapore on 3 and 4-night voyages focused exclusively on sea days. While there are no port stops, families can pair their cruise with pre- or post-sailing adventures in Asia, including visits to Hong Kong Disneyland, Shanghai Disney Resort or Tokyo Disney Resort (Disneyland & DisneySea).

From my experience, sea-day itineraries are often ideal for families, especially on Disney ships. With world-class kids’ clubs, shows and activities happening all day (and into the evening), a voyage filled with sea days means more time spent together without the pressure to rush off the ship.

Tips for Planning a Family Cruise on Disney Adventure

Disney Adventure begins sailing in March, with bookings currently available through December 2026. As with most Disney cruises, booking early is the best way to secure your preferred stateroom and pricing.

Families flying internationally may find it especially helpful to work with a travel advisor who specializes in Disney Cruise Line vacations; they can assist with flights, hotels and cruise planning, and can often secure the best rates possible (at no additional cost).

According to Disney Cruise Line’s website, fares aboard Disney Adventure start at $1,054 for two guests, with most dining, entertainment, character experiences and kids’ programming included.

SheBuysTravel Tip: Travel insurance is especially important for international trips; it can help protect your investment if plans change. Disney Cruise Line’s Vacation Protection Plan (an add-on option when purchasing your cruise) will cover the cruise itself, but you’ll want to purchase separate travel insurance to cover international flights.
