Whether your last trip to Disney was a week ago or ten years ago making Disney recipes at home is a great way to keep the pixie dust alive. Disney routinely releases recipes for some fan favorites and there are entire sites devoted to Disney copycat recipes. We’re listing out some of our favorites including some Disney recipes for kids that you can whip up together. Looking for more Disney recipes? Be sure to check out our cookbook section for even more Disney flavors to make at home!

Bringing the Disney Magic Home to Your Kitchen

Biting into a Disney waffle or that first taste of Dole Whip are some of my happiest Disney vacation memories.

Sadly, we can’t always be at Disney. But making a Mickey Mouse waffle or whipping up a Dole Whip can make us feel a little of that Disney magic while we’re home. It’s a fun way to extend the glow of a Disney vacation, rev up the excitement for an upcoming Disney trip or just keep the magic alive in those stretches between our Disney visits.

Whatever your favorite Disney food memory — Mickey-shaped pretzels, sugar cookies or special beignets, Disneyland corn dogs and clam chowder, or sweet cornbread –there’s a Disney recipe for making that treat at home.

To save you some time we’ve created an index of some of our very favorite Disney snacks and treats complete with the Disney recipes to create them!

Disney Recipes: Breakfast Favorites

Mickey Mouse Waffle Recipe

Morning at your house can be just a little more magical when breakfast comes in the shape of Mickey Mouse. While you can make Mickey pancakes free-form (a big drop of pancake batter for the face connected to two smaller drops for the ears), the classic Mickey waffle requires a Mickey waffle maker like this one from ShopDisney.

Next, you need the secret Mickey waffle recipe.

Finally, add syrup and watch for the magical smiles. In our house, even the grumpy child cracks a morning grin for a Mickey waffle. One other fun thing to use Mickey waffles for? Revealing a Disney trip! Serve up a Disney-themed breakfast before revealing your big Disney surprise to the kids.

Spyglass Grill Guava-Stuffed French Toast Recipe

This yumminess comes from Spyglass Grill at the Caribbean Beach Resort. The restaurant serves American foods infused with Caribbean flavors. That is very definition of french toast stuffed with guava flavored cream cheese concoction. Serving this at a fancy brunch is an easy way to invoke the flavors of the islands as well as taking a mental trip back to Disney World.

Find the full Guava-Stuffed French Toast recipe here.

Mickey Mouse Beignet Recipe

This Mickey-shaped treat is the perfect powder sugar covered confection to eat while watching The Princess and the Frog!

LeFou’s Brew Recipe

Beauty and the Beast is my all-time favorite Disney movie. I always visit Gaston’s Tavern in Fantasyland when I’m in the Magic Kingdom park at Walt Disney World. The LeFou’s Brew is one of the best-selling drinks at the tavern. On a hot day, this fruit slushy is refreshing and fun. And it’s made with apple juice, so we even call it healthy. Sort of.

This Lefou’s Brew recipe is super easy to make, although you may need to go to the store, unless you keep passionfruit juice in the pantry. We like to make it on a hot Texas afternoon when the girls need a pick-me-up. Did I mention that the apple juice makes it healthy, sort of? Bonus points if you’ve got a souvenir stein from your last trip to serve it in!

Try to ditch the family for a bit to experience some Disney World mom foods like Dole Whip with rum.

Dole Whip Recipe

Some days, especially in the summer, I find myself craving a Dole Whip, the famous whipped pineapple treat that enjoys a cult following among Disney fans. Getting one at Disney World usually requires waiting in a very long line at Aloha Isle in Adventureland at Magic Kingdom.

Here, we have a recipe choice. The Dole Pineapple company has this official Dole recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup pineapple juice, frozen in an ice cube tray
  • 1 banana, peeled and frozen
  • 2-1/2 teaspoons powdered sugar
  • 1/4 to 1/2 cup unsweetened coconut milk beverage

BUT WAIT JUST A MINUTE! Disney released its own Dole Whip recipe, much to the delight of us Dole Whip fans. And it’s got a secret ingredient the Dole Pineapple company doesn’t include: ice cream! No wonder the Disney recipe produces such creamy wonderfulness.

Here you go. You’re welcome.

Ingredients

  • 1 big scoop of vanilla ice cream
  • 4 oz of pineapple juice
  • 2 cups of frozen pineapple

Instructions

Add all ingredients to a blender. Blend until smooth. Pour into a large Ziploc bag. Use scissors to cut one small corner off to swirl into a serving dish. Or do it the way we prefer: Skip that step and give everyone a spoon to eat it right out of the blender.

Disney Cruise Line’s Signature Balsamic Grande Cocktail

Dinner at the Palo restaurant aboard a Disney cruise ship is one of the best adults only things to do while the kids are otherwise occupied. Sharing a lovely meal and a nice drink is a great way to reconnect with your significant other. If you’re lucky enough to find yourself there, the signature Balsamic Grande is the drink to order.

This refreshing cocktail is made with vodka, balsamic vinegar and fresh muddled strawberries. Set the kids down in front of Encanto on Disney+ and make a batch of these for you and your honey. You might not be able to watch the waves go by, but you can still get a few minutes of peace and quiet.

Disney Recipes: Appetizers (and Snacks)

We love Disney snacks. Sometimes when we’re visiting Disney we run around trying them all. Who needs a full meal when there are so many good things to taste!

Disney Recipes: Sandwiches

Sandwiches just deserve their own category. They’re great on their own. With soup or a side of tots they are a whole meal. Bonus- kids love them.

Disney Chocolate Peanut Butter Sandwich

Chocolate + peanut butter = yummy. Find this treat at Pooh Corner in Disneyland Resort, or your own kitchen. It only takes five ingredients.

Woody’s Grilled Cheese Sandwich Recipe

Disney also dropped the secret recipe for the Three-Cheese Sandwich from Woody’s Lunch Box in Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. All. That. Cheese. No wonder it’s so yummy. Don’t have all the ingredients? Don’t sweat it. We have made this one a TON and subbed in different cheeses as necessary. It’s still delicious.

Disneyland’s Blue Bayou Monte Cristo Sandwiches

If you’ve visited Disneyland, then you may have tried the Blue Bayou Monte Cristo Sandwiches. This sweet and savory wonder is made with rich challah bread stuffed with ham, turkey and cheese, then battered and fried, dusted in powdered sugar, and dipped in jam. My mouth is watering from the memory! Create this over-the-top treat with this copycat recipe.

Disney Recipes: Entrees To Remember

how do you make the hollywood brown derby classic cobb salad recipe at home
Here’s how to make a Disney Hollywood Studios favorite- the Brown Derby Cobb salad! Photo Credit: Dana Zucker

Brown Derby Cobb Salad

The Brown Derby Cobb salad is one of those amazing salads that is truly a full meal. Try this copycat Cobb salad recipe adapted by Dana Zucker. She vividly remembers her introduction to the Brown Derby Cobb Salad and her first Disney cookbook.

“I remember getting the cookbook like it was yesterday. We were in the lounge on the concierge floor at the Wilderness Lodge and the concierge asked if we needed anything. My husband, who is not the biggest Disney fan, says, ‘There is only one thing I like about Walt Disney World and that is the Brown Derby salad dressing’. Well, on my pillow that night was a copy of Cooking with Mickey and the Disney Chefs cookbook. What can I say other than it was truly Disney Magic…”

That cookbook, Cooking with Mickey and the Disney Chefs, is out of print but we’ve seen copies pop up occasionally on Amazon. New ones can be pricy so be sure to click on the Used selling section. We’ve seen them for under $2 there!

Ingredients

  • 3-4 cups chopped greens – I’ve used romaine, kale, spring mix, and others; whatever I have on hand. I stay away from iceberg as, in my opinion, it has little nutritional value.
  • 1 pound protein – I poach a chicken each week to use for lunches and will use that, but you can use turkey, steak, ham, or even tofu.
  • 4-6 chopped hard-boiled eggs – My rule of thumb is 1 egg per person.
  • 1 1/2 cup chopped tomatoes or quartered cherry tomatoes
  • 1 diced avocado
  • 3/4 cup cheese – A classic Cobb calls for blue cheese, but I use what’s in the house, like farmer’s goat cheese and especially if I want to watch the fat and calories.
  • 6 strips bacon – I do 1 strip per person.
  • Add any other veggies you would like – There are really no rules.

Making the salad is easy:

  • For a fancy serving, you can layer the salad and make it look very pretty or you can take all of the prepared ingredients, place in a big bowl, and toss with 1/2-3/4 cup salad dressing.

Brown Derby Cobb Salad Dressing

This recipe is the original recipe with a few ingredient changes. It is a favorite in our house, so I make a larger batch and store it in the refrigerator.

Hollywood Brown Derby Cobb Salad Dressing Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup red wine vinegar
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 garlic cloves grated
  • 1/2 tsp dry mustard
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1 cup canola oil plus 1/4 cup olive oil
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Directions:

  • Take all of the ingredients, except the oils, and pulse in a food processor or blender.
  • Add salt and pepper as needed to taste.
  • Start blender again and add oils while the blender is running.
  • Store in a glass ball jar in the refrigerator.

Disney Recipes: Desserts We Want All the Time!

Let’s face it Disney desserts just hit differently. There are SO many to choose from. Here are some dessert Disney recipes that are super popular and some that are under the radar must-haves.

The grey stuff from the Be Our Guest restaurant in Magic Kingdom
Try the Grey Stuff it’s delicious. We asked the dishes but sadly they didn’t answer. Photo Credit: Patty Moliterno

Disney Grey Stuff Recipe (and a Gluten-Free Alternative!)

Here is another Beauty in the Beast themed treat (I told you it was my favorite movie). The well-known “grey stuff” can be found at the Be Our Guest restaurant in the Magic Kingdom park at Walt Disney World. Good news though, you don’t need a reservations to make Disney’s Grey Stuff at home. Disney released the Grey Stuff recipe. That version uses an Oreo-like cookie on top of a brownie, so it’s not gluten-free. But this gluten-free Grey stuff recipe is a great alternative. It’s also very easy to make.

Boma’s Banana Bread Pudding Recipe

Banana bread? Bread pudding? Oh, yes. Sign me up! Boma, the buffet-style restaurant in Animal Kingdom Lodge that promises “flavors of Africa” delivers big on dessert. It’s one of those times when we say the calories don’t count. Here’s how to make this luscious treat at home.

Coronado Springs Resort food

Disney Churro Recipe

These bits of deep-fried deliciousness are available at Disney parks all over the world. We get ours at La Cantina de San Angel in EPCOT. Now they can be available in our home too. We highly recommend this reusable pastry bag. Because it is sturdier it is less messy to fill!  My mouth still waters at the memory of a fresh-made Disney churro covered in cinnamon and sugar. As an extra treat, we melt some chocolate for a dipping sauce. Here’s how to make them at home.

Mickey Mouse Caramel Apples

My caramel apples never look like the ones in the store. They tend to droop, the caramel sliding off the apple and pooling at the bottom. Still, the girls and I keep trying. Turns out there’s a little Disney magic involved in making a beautifully perfect caramel apple in the shape of Minnie or Mickey. You can learn that here. And the ears? Marshmallows. Yeah. We know. We should have thought of that.

Banana Toffee Mousse on Cocoa Crunch

This yummy dessert hails from The Hollywood Brown Derby Restaurant at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. It combines white chocolate chips, toffee and bananas into a trifecta of deliciousness. This one is definitely a little harder than some of the other Disney recipes but we think it’s worth it! Get the official Disney recipe for Banana Toffee Mousse.

Warm Chocolate Truffle Cake from Napa Rose at the Disneyland Resort

You had me at “warm chocolate.” Also not in the “easy to make but oh, so worth it” category, this Disney recipe takes two days. You make the Ganache a day ahead, then whip up the truffle cakes the next day so they can be served warm. Disney serves it with cherry vanilla ice cream, which my family thinks is a really good idea.

Here’s how to make warm chocolate truffle cakes.

Sprinkles Vanilla Cupcake Recipe

Vanilla cupcakes? Really? That’s the best you can do in a Disney recipes post? You can only be asking questions like that if you have never visited Sprinkles, the cupcake emporium located in Downtown Disney at Disneyland or Disney Springs in Orlando.

While you won’t have the joy of ordering your cupcake from a cupcake ATM, you can still sink your teeth into The. Best. Vanilla. Cupcake. Ever.

Here’s the not-so-secret Vanilla cupcake recipe.

Disney Cookbooks to Check Out

Haven’t had your fill of Disney recipes? Here are some Disney cookbook options to keep you inspired.

The Disney Princess Cookbook

We love this one for several reasons. First, Disney Princess fans will enjoy Rapunzel-inspired Frying Pan Eggs, Tiana-inspired Bayou Meatloaf, Moana-inspired Te Fiti Tropical Punch, and many more Disney recipes. Parents will love the difficulty rating on each recipe so that they know what they’re getting into.

Delicious Disney: Walt Disney World: Recipes & Stories from The Most Magical Place on Earth

This cookbook is available for pre-order ahead of its April 5, 2022 release and we have to say we’re excited! With over 60 recipes and the stories behind them this special release is part of Disney’s 50th Anniversary Celebration. We can’t wait to check out this piece of Walt Disney World Resort memorabilia.

Entertaining With Disney: Exceptional Events from Mickey Mouse to Moana!

This adorable book is more than just recipes. It also offers decor recommendations. If you love to throw a Disney themed party this is the book for you!
