When Disney announced the closure of Muppet*Vision 3D, fans were heartbroken. Luckily, Disney revealed that the Muppets were moving right along to Sunset Boulevard.

The track layout remains the same alongside the super-stretch limos. Now, the experience features the Electric Mayhem playing hit music. Zany Muppets cheer you on around every high-speed turn.

SheBuysTravel Tip: If your little ones are nervous about the launch, remind them that Kermit and Fozzie are riding right along with them in spirit.

The show features Nick Wilde, Judy Hopps and a brand-new character named Heidi Howler hosting a massive Zoogether Day party. Families can also meet Nick and Judy at the new Zoogether Day Gathering Spot outside the theater.

Inside, guests encounter interactive experiences and a playground inspired by Mary Blair’s Alice in Wonderland concept art. You will also find character meet-and-greets and guided drawing classes.

As one of Magic Kingdom’s most beloved classics, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad returned with fresh tracks and enhanced effects. It also features a brand-new Rainbow Caverns scene.

The updated cavern includes colorful phosphorescent pools, sparkling stalagmites and intricate stalactites. These additions expand the ride’s historic storyline beautifully.

SheBuysTravel Tip: Use Rider Switch if you have a toddler who just cleared the new 38-inch mark but older siblings want a repeat ride.

Piloting the Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run is a universal fan dream. The experience received an epic upgrade tied to The Mandalorian and Grogu.

Riders can now choose which location to navigate through, including Bespin, Coruscant or the wreckage of the second Death Star around Endor. Engineers also interact directly with Grogu during the mission.

SheBuysTravel Tip: Ask the cast member at the cockpit boarding door if your family can wait for a full private cabin so you control all six seats.

Frequently Asked Questions about Walt Disney World New Attractions

Did Disney World really lower the height requirement on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad?

Yes! After its 17-month refurbishment wrapped up in May 2026, Disney officially dropped the height requirement from 40 inches down to 38 inches. As a mom, I love this change because it finally lets slightly younger kids experience the wildest ride in the wilderness.

Are the new 2026 Disney World attractions good for toddlers?

It depends on the ride. While the newly refreshed Buzz Lightyear and the Zootopia 4D show are fantastic for all ages, thrill rides like the Muppets Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster still carry a 48-inch height requirement and a high-speed launch that might be too intense for very little ones.

What is the best strategy for beating the afternoon heat at Disney World?

Take advantage of the newest indoor additions. Ducking into the new Animation Courtyard at Hollywood Studios or catching Zootopia: Better Zoogether inside the air-conditioned Tree of Life at Animal Kingdom between 1 PM and 3 PM will save your sanity when the Florida sun peaks.

Do I need to book Lightning Lane passes early for the new rides?

Absolutely. With high-demand updates like the Mando and Grogu missions on Smugglers Run and the brand-new Rainbow Caverns on Big Thunder Mountain, booking your Lightning Lane selections as early as your resort window opens is essential.
