Guide To Frozen Ever After at Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World has so many wonderful rides and fun characters to meet. But if you’re a parent or grandparent, riding Frozen Ever After is probably already at the top of your list. If not, it should be! I know all about Anna and Elsa, I have three little girls who were nothing less than obsessed with the characters when we first met them after Frozen was released in 2013. Frozen fever is a very real thing!

Just when we thought that we were done listening to “Let It Go” on repeat, The Walt Disney Company announced the sequel Frozen 2, which is set to release November 22, 2019. This means the Frozen Ever After ride at Walt Disney World is going to see a rise in popularity as new and old Frozen fans seek to enjoy the experience.

Where to the Find Frozen Ever After Ride

You will find the Frozen Ever After ride in Epcot. It’s in Norway, which is an Epcot World Showcase pavilion (located where the ride Maelstrom used to be).  This pavilion is also home to the Royal Sommerhus Meet and Greet with Anna and Elsa and the Akershus Royal Banquet Hall restaurant.

How To Avoid Long Wait Times for Frozen Ever After

We know you have two goals:

  • To ride the Frozen Ever After ride.
  • To ride it with as short a wait as possible.

Follow these tips and you should be on a boat ride in Arendelle before you know it!

Reserve a FastPass+

Reserving a FastPass+ for this ride is the best strategy to avoid standing in line. If this is the first time you’ve heard of FastPasses or are unsure of when and which rides to book, we have a complete guide here. Book your FassPass+ in the My Disney Experience app and you’ll be set for short waits to your favorite rides like Frozen Ever After and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

If you’re unable to book a FastPass+ for Frozen Ever After, we have some other ways to avoid the long lines.

Get There Early For The Rope Drop at Epcot

If you don’t mind waking up early, you can use this strategy to be one of the first ones in line for Frozen Ever After. You won’t be the only person who is trying to beat the crowd, so plan to arrive at least 60 minutes prior to the park opening. You need to make time for bag checks and walking to the Norway Pavilion.

Did you know that there is more than one way to enter Epcot? Try entering through the International Gateway in World Showcase. This entrance will be less crowded than the main entrance and it’s actually closer to the Mexico pavilion. That’s where the Frozen Ever After ride line starts about 30 minutes prior to the park opening. The International Gateway entrance is used primarily by Crescent Lake guests staying at the Boardwalk, Beach Club and Yacht Club Walt Disney World Resorts.

Book an Early Dining Reservation at Akershus

This is another way to beat both the lines and the heat! We tested this strategy while visiting Disney World with grandparents. We booked an early dining reservation at Akershus and planned to be out of the restaurant by 8:50amto jump in line before the park opened.

The earlier the reservation, the better, because you’re not going to want to rush this character breakfast experience. You’ll want time to visit the buffet, meet the princesses and check out. Let your servers know that you’re trying to make it to the rope drop. They can help by bringing the check early. After breakfast, make your way to the ride line.

Stay On-Site for the Extra Magic Hours

Staying at a Disney Resort property comes with the perk of Extra Magic Hours. This means that on certain days and times, you can visit each park a little earlier or later than those staying off property. You can take advantage of these times to get in line for the most popular rides. Check this Disney calendar to see when Epcot will have Extra Magic Hours during your Disney vacation.

Skip the Fire Works and Be The Last in Line

As long as there is one minute left until the park closes, you can get in line to any attraction. You can save riding Frozen Ever After until later, making it the last thing you do before you leave the park. If you feel like you can “let it go” and skip the fireworks, then give this a try. I don’t recommend this strategy if you’re visiting Disney with younger kids. They are normally tired at this point in the night.

Where to Meet Your Favorite Frozen Characters

How many times have you sang, “Do you wanna build a snowman”? We know riding the Frozen Ever After ride is a highlight for any Frozen fan, but meeting the characters is also an unforgettable experience. I’ll never forget how excited my 6-year-old was to meet Olaf during our last trip to Disney World. She is normally very shy, but she walked right up to Olaf and gave him a warm hug. And you know how much he loves warm hugs especially in summer! You can’t miss a chance to hug this giant marshmallow.

Where to meet Olaf – You can find the Olaf meet and greet at Hollywood Studios in the Celebrity Spotlight area.

Where to meet Anna and Queen Elsa – You can meet Anna and Elsa at the Royal Sommerhus which is located near the entrance for Frozen Ever After. We recommend this meet and greet after you get off the ride.

Other Frozen Experiences You Can’t Miss

I don’t want your little Frozen fans to miss out on any experiences. Check out the 25-minute sing-along which takes place at the Hyperion Theater in Hollywood Studios. It’s a show that has both kids and parents laughing hysterically – and singing along. You don’t have to be a fan of the movie to enjoy this experience. It’s fun for everyone. You’ll even see some of the other characters from Frozen like Kristoff and Hans.
