I’ll say it plainly: if you’re bringing kids to Las Vegas, Henderson is where I’d stay. You get the pool, the space, and often a full kitchen — without the sensory overload of the Las Vegas Strip and its all-hours neon. Henderson sits just southeast of the airport, a short drive or rideshare from everything on the Strip when you want it, and genuinely peaceful when you don’t.

Need a cheap hotel to stretch your dollars? A 3-star hotel to stay in comfort and accrue chain hotel points? A top-flight resort for a restorative getaway with a kids’ club on-site? Henderson has something to fit each of these family travel niches.

Highlights

  • 16 hotels across three Henderson neighborhoods, from budget chains to full resorts
  • Multiple suite and full-kitchen options for families who want to self-cater and save on dining out
  • Off-Strip pricing and a quieter pace, with Las Vegas still a short drive away

Scroll on down to our list of Henderson hotel options and find the one that’s right for your family’s trip. (Note: All these hotels include free parking and free wifi unless otherwise noted.)

SheBuysTravel Tip: Flying into McCarran/Harry Reid International Airport? Henderson is southeast of the airport. Planning to take a cab and landing on Friday afternoon? Lines can be long—have someone in your party get in the ground transportation line while you get bags. Renting a car? The airport’s car rental center is super user-friendly.

If I wanted to splurge on a solo or girls’ weekend away, and desired less action than luxury hotels on the Strip, I’d head to the Hilton Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa. A long weekend here and I’d be good to go—it offers everything you need for a restorative trip mixing great dining, spa and pool retreats and plenty of outdoor beauty.

The resort is adjacent to Montelago, a Tuscan-inspired shopping and dining village. Two Jack Nicklaus-designed golf courses are available for guests at the resort. You could stay here and truly never have to leave the resort complex to have a fulfilling, multi-faceted vacation.

Want to ensure you have water-play access for kids during a family trip, without giving up the polish of a real resort? Then the Westin Lake Las Vegas is the way to go.

First, you’ve got what I think are maybe the best hotel beds in the business (close tie for me with the Hyatt product line). Then, you’ve got several excellent onsite restaurants so you can enjoy a relaxing dinner without having to drive afterwards. And, there’s the onsite spa. And all of that’s before we’ve even considered the lake location! Next time my low-price flight notification pings for Vegas, I’m booking a room at The Westin.

  • Water-view rooms
  • Onsite dining
  • Two pools and a pool slide
  • Onsite golf course
