Why Low-Season Ireland Is a Smart Choice for Women Travelers

My best pal, Ami, has been wanting to see Ireland – the land of her ancestry – for years. We’ve been many places together, but we haven’t yet made it to Ireland. It seems daunting. The chilly rainy weather. Covering so much ground while driving on the wrong side of the road. Deciding whether we go alone or bring our husbands, neither of whom seems all that excited about the trip.

But this is going to be the year! We have decided that a tour is the right way to do this. No need to drive ourselves, carry our own luggage or figure out which Irish churches we simply must visit.

If we don’t take the guys, we can do this trip on a budget. We’re allotting $2500 each for the basic tour. To see the sights we want to see, we’ll go during the fall shoulder season. It means lower costs and smaller crowds, two keys to happy travels.

We’re looking at Globus Tours because:

  • Several of the fall tours are priced at $2500 or less.
  • Globus tours include guides who add context in the form of personal stories, local history and real-time tips.
  • We won’t have to carry our own bags or figure out how to drive on the left side of the road!
