Luxury cottage resorts in Washington can’t be beat when planning the perfect girlfriend getaway. The resorts on this list give you the best of both worlds: off the beaten path and luxury amenities. When I plan a girls getaway I like to mix unique activities, experiences and outdoor time with luxury spa treatments and fine dining. Washington offers stunning locations and has some of the best wine in the world (I am biased as it is my home state).

Skamania Lodge

The soaring ceilings and massive stone fireplace in the lobby of the Skamania Lodge remind one of national park lodges such as the Old Faithful Inn. For a truly unique girls trip stay “Away in the Woods” at one of their Treehouses. Make sure to book one of the two new treehouses which soar to 40 feet into towering Douglas Fir trees. The increased height provides even more stunning views of the old growth forest and the Cascade Mountains.
- Full bathroom with a walk in shower and a private view of the forest
- Enjoy morning coffee on the deck with an indoor/outdoor fireplace
- Private fire pit to enjoy s’mores (gift shop sells kits)
- Full service spa
- The best hot tub in Washington
- Centrally located location to explore the Columbia River Gorge

SheBuysTravel Tip: For a fun girls activity, watch or read “Wild” Cheryl Strayed’s story and then visit the iconic “Bridge of the Gods” featured in the movie for the ultimate girls’ trip photo. It is not far from the Skamania Lodge

Alderbrook Resort & Spa

Gather your best gal pals and head to the Alderbrook Resort & Spa which has welcomed guests since 1913. Nestled on the shores of the Hood Canal it is a hidden gem in the tiny town of Union. The two bedroom cottages give new meaning to the word luxurious and are perfect for a girls’ getaway with two bedrooms, a living room, and a full kitchen. Enjoy fine dining at the restaurant which features locally sourced ingredients and even has an oyster program. Activities abound but make sure to try forest bathing on the trails through an old growth forest.

Doe Bay Resort

Doe Bay Resort and Retreat on Orcas Island is unique and has a cult following in Washington. The owners never advertise and it is entirely word of mouth. Accommodations are rustic but worth roughing it to stay on this gorgeous property. Accommodations range vary and include off grid yurts, camping, dry cabins, and deluxe cabins. You will want to book a deluxe cabin because the deluxe has a private bathroom. A must do activity for a girls’ trip is to book a 90 minute private spa rental. It includes access to the hot soaking tubs, sauna, and a creekside deck for lounging and taking in the views. There is also a serenity garden.
- Enjoy live music from the artist in residence

Historic Lake Crescent Lodge

Step back in time at the historic Lake Crescent Lodge in the heart of Olympic National Park. Perfect for a girls’ getaway with one and two bedroom cabins available. Accommodations are on the rustic side but so worth it for the location. Lake Crescent is so pristine and clear you can see the bottom from the dock. On a still day the surrounding mountains reflect in the lake and it is just gorgeous. On chilly days, feel like a Victorian lady and sip tea in the sun room while enjoying its vintage vibes.

Eritage Resort

Tucked away in the countryside surrounding Walla Walla is the Eritage Resort and a perfect destination for a girls’ trip. Luxury lakeside bungalows overlook a private lake. Although out in the middle of nowhere, the resort’s amenities offer plenty to do during your stay. During my visit I watched Executive Chef Arturo Tello Jr. work his magic with locally sourced ingredients prepared by open-fire cooking techniques. It was a memorable experience.
- Catch some rays at the outdoor saltwater pool
- Try Eritage’s wine at the tasting room
- Go paddle boarding on Lake Sienna
- Bike through the country side
- Try your hand at croquet or corn hole
- Take in a gorgeous sunset from your bungalow

Seabrook

Driving along State Road 109 along the Washington coast, its sleepy small towns and old hotels and beach resorts where generations have stayed. Suddenly the speed limit drops to 25 mph and you enter a luxury community that just seems to pop up in the middle of nowhere. Seabrook stuns with its beautiful architecture. Girls will have plenty of space in these gorgeous cottages. Park your car once and bike or stroll during your visit. Picture small town America with a luxurious twist.
- Explore the packed sand beach by bike
- Miles of hiking trails
- Upscale shopping
- A bakery so good there are lines out the door
- A variety of restaurants
- Multiple swimming pools
- Lots of fun events throughout the year
- Convenient location for day trips
SeaBuysTravel Tip: The resort is huge so plan to book one of the cottages on the west side of SR109. There is a row that is not ocean front so the rates aren’t as pricey and you can easily walk to all the amenities.
Seabrook, 4275 SR 109, Pacific Beach, WA 98571
