I made it to Edinburgh for the first time last month and I knew I wanted to stay somewhere in the city centre that was close to tourist attractions and also clean, safe and chic. When I came across the RIGH Residences, the four-star luxury hotel with spacious, apartment-style rooms and suites, it was the perfect fit for my girls weekend. Needless to say, this property on George Street came to me highly recommended and it did not disappoint for my first ever visit to Scotland.
Pros:
- Spacious rooms with modern amenities
- On-site laundry room
- Close, central location to downtown Edinburgh
Cons:
- Guest relations team only onsite from 8am to 8pm
- No on-site food outside of the light bites in the lounge
SheBuysTravelTip: There’s a desk located on the first floor where you can check in after hours and have your room keys printed if you arrive late from the airport.
Rooms at RIGH Residences Edinburgh

There are a selection of different rooms and suites at RIGH Residences and you can pick the one you’d like depending on preference and availability. I stayed in the Edwardian suite which can comfortably sleep up to four people and has views of the city.
Inside there was a king-sized bed, kitchenette, table and chairs, mini fridge, wardrobe with robes and slippers and a full-length mirror. The sofa bed was surprisingly comfortable and the pillows were just the right amount of fluffy. The kitchenette was a nice feature, although I didn’t utilize it much during my two-night stay with my girlfriends.
As for the bathroom, it was on the smaller side but it did its job for showering and getting ready in the morning. I loved the Laura Thomas Co. bathroom amenities — they made my body smell delightful after a long travel day.
Amenities at RIGH Residences Edinburgh

Aside from the in-room amenities at RIGH residences, there are additional ones that you can utilize during your stay:
- In-house laundry and dryer unit
- Luggage storage
- Flexible housekeeping (on request)
- Lounge with pastries, coffee and tea
- Pet-friendly
- Umbrella rentals
There’s even the option to book multi-day and half-day tours with the property. If you’re looking to visit destinations such as the Scottish borders or Stirling and Culross you can arrange for that with a knowledgeable guide during select times of the year.
Food at RIGH Residences Edinburgh

There’s no food on sight at RIGH Residences outside of the light bites such as croissants and cookies found in the lounge. That said, there are a number of incredible restaurants in the nearby area. Plus, the hotel has some partnerships with local businesses, such as a set breakfast deal at Cote Brasserie for £16.50 per adult and £8.25 per child and 10 percent off the final bill at Haute Dolci to name a few.
I didn’t have a chance to stop by any of the partnership restaurants; however, I highly recommend making a stop to Greenwoods, a short two-minute walk from the hotel.
Things to Do Near RIGH Residences Edinburgh

One of the best features of the property is the location. It’s close to just about everything you’ll want to do and see in Edinburgh. For example, if you want to check out the Edinburgh Castle, it’s less than a half mile and the same goes for the National Galleries of Scotland, the National Museum of Scotland and the Scott Monument. If you have the time, I’d highly recommend hopping in a Lyft and heading to the Palace of Holyroodhouse, which is a 10-minute drive or 1.5 mile walk.
Getting to RIGH Residences Edinburgh

If you’re coming in from the Edinburgh Airport, RIGH Residences is a 25-minute drive which isn’t too bad. I decided to use rideshare since my flight was coming in late and I didn’t want to deal with the hassle of a bus; however, that is an option. If you’re using rideshare, keep in mind that since the property is on a busy street, the pickup and drop-off location is not directly in front but on the adjacent street.
