Yosemite National Park is massive, so determining how to tackle it and where to stay can be overwhelming for a first-time visitor. An attractive new option, Waybound Yosemite, opened in Fish Camp in 2026. Only 2.7 miles from the Yosemite South Entrance, Waybound Yosemite family cabins are a haven for the traveler who wants easy park access but far more comfort. I found it ideal for a three-day trip for our family to celebrate our son’s last year of high school.
Highlights:
- Unbeatable Yosemite Access: Located just outside Yosemite National Park’s South Entrance, making sunrise hikes and waterfall-chasing adventures easy.
- Resort Amenities Included: Guests enjoy access to pools, hot tubs, spa facilities, dining venues, guided experiences and recreation programs through Tenaya at Yosemite.
- Nature Meets Comfort: Modern two-bedroom cabin “Havens” feature spacious layouts and gathering spaces designed for families, couples and friend groups exploring Yosemite together.

Waybound Yosemite is one of the most convenient lodging options near Yosemite National Park. This stylish outdoor-inspired retreat offers Yosemite visitors seeking a quieter and more sophisticated stay a good option. The resort offers upscale cabin-style accommodations, called Havens, surrounded by towering pines only 2.7 miles from Yosemite’s South Entrance.
Designed for travelers who want an immersive nature experience without sacrificing comfort, the property combines modern mountain design, social gathering spaces, resort-style amenities and access to the extensive experiences available at neighboring Tenaya at Yosemite. Both resorts are operated by the same management company, with the new Waybound-branded Havens being a more quiet and boutique alternative to the larger Tenaya at Yosemite resort next door.

Favorite Spaces Around the Property
- The Commons: A social hub featuring dining, coffee service and gathering spaces where guests can recharge between adventures. All guests are greeted with fresh-squeezed lemonade and cookies upon arrival.
- Outdoor Fire Pits: Shared spaces perfect for evening conversations, stargazing and post-hike relaxation, including free s’mores kits available each evening to guests.
- Resort Pool and Hot Tub: Ideal for soothing sore muscles after a long day exploring Yosemite’s trails and viewpoints. The oversized hot tub was an unexpected treat!
SheBuysTravel Tip: Plan at least one evening with no agenda. The pine forest setting and fire pit gathering spaces make it easy to slow down and enjoy the mountain atmosphere.

Spacious layouts, warm finishes and practical amenities help visitors settle in comfortably after active days in the park. There are a total of 50 Havens in small clusters around community fire pit areas, all with ample parking.
Haven Amenities
- Large open-concept living area with a gas fireplace for chilly mornings and cold air-conditioning for toasty afternoons (perfect setup for families to spread out between activities)!
- Kitchenette with a large refrigerator and a microwave (no stovetop or oven)

- Private outdoor terrace with Adirondack chairs or balcony in select accommodations
- Family-friendly, two-bedroom layouts sleeping up to six guests (even the bunk bed in the second bedroom easily accommodated my six-foot-tall 17-year-old).
- Pet-friendly accommodations for travelers bringing four-legged companions
Dining at Waybound Yosemite

One of Waybound’s biggest advantages is that guests can enjoy on-property dining while also accessing the restaurants and lounges available through neighboring Tenaya at Yosemite. This means you can spend more time adventuring and less time searching for evening dinner options.
Waybound Dining Highlights
- Plates + Pours: Serves breakfast, lunch and dinner in a welcoming setting with both indoor and outdoor seating available.
- Coffee Counter: Grab coffee and light refreshments before an early-morning park entry.
- Poolside Café: Casual options for guests spending an afternoon relaxing at the resort.
- General Store: Well-stocked assortment of picnic-ready sandwiches, fruit cups and beverages for a grab-and-go option before exploring Yosemite.
SheBuysTravel Tip: A must-try from Plates + Pours for a hungry teenager is the Dogwood Chicken Sandwich. It’s enough for leftovers that can easily be warmed up in the Haven kitchenette for a midnight snack!
Additional dining options are available at adjacent resort Tenaya at Yosemite. These include the upscale Embers steakhouse, Jackalope’s Bar & Grill and Timberloft Pizzeria. We enjoyed a pasta dinner at Jackalope’s on our last evening before departure.
Signature Experiences in Every Haven

- Each Haven includes a Waybound Cocktail Chest with tools and essentials for crafting cocktails or mocktails. We were greeted with all of the makings for an alcohol free cucumber gimlet, which was refreshing after a long day of travel.
- Every Haven features a customized Waybound Spa Box designed to promote relaxation and self-care.
- Complimentary outdoor gear is provided to support your adventures, including: binoculars, walking sticks and a flashlight for nighttime exploration
