My husband and I sought a drivable destination for a quiet and relaxing long weekend and chose Hawley, PA based on recommendations from friends. Located under three hours from both the Philadelphia area and the New York metro region, the charming town of Hawley is part of the Poconos of Pennsylvania. Easy to reach by major highways, the town prides itself on outstanding local shops, farm-to-table restaurants, and family-friendly recreational opportunities throughout the year.
I discovered why Hawley is an ideal place to wind down. You can stroll the quaint shops and galleries, dine in gourmet restaurants, discover new wines and beers and spend time at The Lodge at Woodloch, a world-famous destination spa set in a nature’s paradise.
When I returned from my weekend escape, I had a renewed sense of calm, and you can too. Hawley is situated at the northeastern tip of Lake Wallenpaupack, So, whether Hawley is a daytrip on your Poconos vacation, or if you plan a long weekend in Hawley, here are highlights to consider. Here’s why I loved it and you will too.
Here are some of the places to see and experiences to try
Because we visited Hawley in November, some of the highlights of the town weren’t open. I can’t wait to return in the summer season to experience all the destination has to offer.
